Farmer’s markets are often great places to shop for one. Frequently, you can bag your own portion of beans, apples, lettuce, or brussels sprouts. Being able to selection your portions makes it easy both to buy a variety of food and to avoid wasting food. And, of course, it’s generally wonderfully fresh delicious produce. As an example, I am eating sweet, crunchy carrots purchased from the farmer’s market as I write this post.
